Encore & Fin!

This week at dinner I asked Xaye if he wanted 'more'. I think I have asked him this at least 14 billion times. Then, it happened. He used the sign for 'more'! At the end of the meal, he also used his sign for finished, which is reminiscent of a baseball umpire signifying a player is 'safe' at home plate.

Today, we will begin discussing Neitzche and review the signs he can use to debate man's existential dilemma.

Ready, set.....psych!

Over the past several days, we have seen more of Xaye making efforts to stand and walk independently. He will take several steps and either grab onto something - or someone - or sit down - PLOP! - on his bottom.

I cringe at bath time as he wobbles to and from the edges of the tub, pausing to clap his hands or attempt to stomp his feet while maintaining balance on a slippery slope....

I am excited to see him walk - then run - however - not looking forward to the countless bumps, bruises - and deep, deep breathes that procede a wail of pain.....
