ROAD TRIP!

For starters, Xaye was a great travel companion. We had spring break and decided to venture out to Phoenix.

We had a great road trip there and back - Xaye and I talked about the landscape (dinosaurs) and he played with toys (dinosaurs) and we took turns listening to our music (Dora for Xaye, a variety for me).

We had a chance to visit with an old friend from SF - Kristen, and meet her boys, Lute (5) and Ike (nearly 3).

We stayed with cousins Jodi and Mario and explored - the Wildlife Park and Aquarium, the kid's museum in Mesa, several malls and local parks.

Jodi and Mario have two dogs, Sam and Phoenix, and Xaye slowly came to love them. Xaye was on his best behavior for the trip and was well behaved and kind to those that we met and spent time with.

I had a great time with him and all of my fears were abated - the drive, my bladder (being 6 months pregnant), and his ability to cope with so much change in one week.

I look forward to our next road trip and enjoy listening to Xaye talk about our stop at the Meteor Crater in w. NM - where the "rock hit our planick" and the "dinosaurs fell down the hole and died".

He is a dynamic person and teaches me so much each day. I know he will rise to the challenge of being a bigger brother. I cannot imagine loving someone as much as I do him - and being a parent with Jerome has been a fantastic experience -

I imagine my heart will grow and I will have just as much love for his younger sibling - but I am glad to have had this 4 years for the 3 of us to be a family together before a new baby arrives.

Looking forward to our next adventure....
